Whether you’re already working in education, or you’re an experienced print professional looking for a rewarding career change, we’d love to hear from you.

Why join us?

This is more than just a teaching role. It’s an opportunity to use your industry knowledge to make a lasting impact on apprentices, employers and the future of the print industry.

You’ll coach, mentor and support learners throughout their apprenticeship journey, helping them develop the technical skills, confidence and professionalism needed to succeed in the workplace.

  • Happy to travel to employer sites across their region
  • Passionate about developing future talent
  • Looking for a rewarding new challenge

Haven’t worked as a tutor before? Don’t let that put you off. If you have extensive industry experience, we can support you to develop the teaching and assessment skills needed to become an outstanding Apprenticeship Tutor.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality apprenticeship and vocational training.
  • Coach, mentor and support apprentices throughout their learning journey.
  • Build strong relationships with employers and provide regular progress updates.
  • Plan and deliver practical and theory-based learning aligned to apprenticeship standards.
  • Assess learner competence and provide constructive developmental feedback.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and compliance documentation using digital systems.
  • Support apprentices with Functional Skills in English and maths where required.
  • Prepare apprentices for End-Point Assessment and successful completion.
  • Keep up to date with developments in print technology, equipment and industry best practice.
  • Contribute to a positive learning culture that motivates apprentices to achieve their full potential.

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Significant practical experience within the printing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of print processes, equipment, materials and finishing techniques.
  • Experience supporting, mentoring or developing colleagues or apprentices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to learners with varying levels of experience.
  • A supportive, patient and encouraging coaching style.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple learners and priorities.
  • Confidence using digital systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with employers, learners and colleagues.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, quality and learner success.

  • An assessor qualification (CAVA, A1 or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards one.
  • Previous experience delivering apprenticeships or vocational training.

None of these are needed to apply. We fund the teaching and assessing qualifications our tutors work towards, and build the study time into the role.
