Employer Forum: Shaping the Future of Print Apprenticeship Training

November 24, 2025

16 December, 3:00pm – Online – Register for link below

We’re inviting employers to join us for a focused industry forum designed to strengthen the future of print apprenticeship training. As we continue refining our curriculum and delivery models, your insight is essential. This session will give you a direct voice in shaping how we prepare new talent, support workforce development, and respond to the operational realities of your business.

During the forum, we will be seeking your views on the following areas

  • Introduce our proposed delivery model for the Print Technician and Print Operative programmes.
  • Gather employer feedback on the anticipated benefits and challenges of the proposed model.
  • Identify any sector-specific skills or knowledge they feel are not fully addressed within the apprenticeship standards, and explore how these can be built into our curriculum and upskilling offer.
  • Understand the practicalities of releasing staff who work on-press for in-person group workshops, including any operational impact and flexibility required.

Benefits to attendees

By joining the session, employers will:

  • Influence programme design – help ensure apprenticeship delivery reflects real production workflows, skill needs, and employer expectations.
  • Improve workforce development – shape a curriculum that better supports retention, progression, and new talent entering the industry.
  • Highlight operational pressures – discuss workshop formats, release time, and practical arrangements to make training easier to manage.
  • Contribute to sector standards – share insights that support long-term skills planning across the print industry.
  • Gain early insight – hear first about proposed delivery changes and how these may benefit your teams.

This forum is designed for employers who play a role in developing skills within the print workforce. It will be particularly relevant to:

  • Production managers and supervisors who oversee on-press teams
  • Operations leaders responsible for workforce planning and resource management
  • HR and learning and development managers involved in staff training
  • Apprenticeship leads, coordinators, and workplace mentors
  • Employers currently working with BPIF Training or considering apprenticeships in the future
  • Any organisation with on-press staff or a need to develop skilled print technicians and operatives
