What stage are you at in your apprenticeship journey?

I am only a few months into my apprenticeship, but already feel that with the support of my tutor, Matt and the team around me that upon completion i will be well equipped for anything the world of management can throw me!

What made you decide to undertake an apprenticeship? How did you come to work in print?

I can see myself growing within this industry, and having started in print as an apprentice back in 2018 my thirst for growth both mentally and within my career has spurred me on to undertake this course. I am always looking to progress, and i feel very passionate about this industry, and with print, you learn something new everyday and that for me keeps me engaged.

Tell us about some of the key knowledge, skills, and behaviours you have developed since starting your apprenticeship.

I have learned about individuals different earning types, and how training can be tailored to them, ensuring that the employee is benefiting from the support provided. I have also come to learn my own strengths and weakness and how i can use those to my advantage and develop my areas of improvement.

Tell us about a typical day at work for you.

My typical day involves two main roles, Lizzy the print account manager, and Lizzy the print team manager.
Day to day my responsibilities vary from estimating print and promotional items, for ad hoc orders, or stock replenishments, or fulfillment jobs to reporting on KPI’s, and managing the teams efficiencies and training. Every day really is different!

What’s the most enjoyable part of your apprenticeship?

I really enjoy the interactive sessions and also how much i have improved already.

What do you see yourself doing on achievement of your apprenticeship?

I see myself potentially taking another apprenticeship, perhaps a level 7.

Would you recommend apprenticeships in the print industry to others, and what would you tell them about the industry?

Yes! I would tell them that it is an ever growing, creative, exciting industry! Nothing quiets beats the feeling of seeing something come to life and knowing you have been a part of it!

Everything within the printing process is fascinating, from the tech to the 1000’s of substrates! If you’re passionate, and innovative then print is for you.
